The evidence vault at the Crook County Sheriff’s Office contains all physical evidence submitted relating to criminal cases taken by the Crook County Sheriff’s Office. The evidence deputy ensures the integrity of all stored evidence and property The Evidence Technician processes and stores more than 2840 items per year.

Items are periodically purged on a case-by-case basis (following adjudication), based on instructions from deputies, investigators and the District Attorney’s Office. Property is returned to owners, destroyed, converted to county property, or auctioned as required by law.

If you have items that are being held by the sheriff’s office as a result of that property being seized and the case has been adjudicated you my contact the sheriff’s office to return your property.

If we have the necessary paper work we will be glad to set up an appointment with you so that you may pick up your property. If we do not have the proper paperwork to release your property we can arrange to locate the proper release and call you back with a time you may pick up your property.

Please keep in mind that contraband may not be released to you nor may we release guns if you have a felony conviction.

The evidence technician is available for answering your questions by contacting the sheriff’s office at (541) 447-6398.
