Lt. Al Bond-Jail Commander Sgt. Paul Edgerly-Jail Supervisor
The Crook County Jail is a 16-bed facility located in the City of Prineville Administration/Police building at 400 NE Third Street, Prineville, Oregon. The portion of the city building in which the jail is located was originally built as a City Fire Hall and was renovated in 1968 for joint use by the City of Prineville and Crook County as a jail. Crook County rents the jail space from the city and the Sheriff operates it as a County Jail, which is usually filled to capacity. Due to jail population increases in Crook County in recent years the county also rents 25 beds from the neighboring Jefferson County Sheriff, those beds are also usually filled to capacity. Inmate visitation is conducted three times per week at the Prineville facility. Wednesday from 7 pm to 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Arrangements for visits must be made 12 hours in advance prior to scheduled visitation times.
