REMEMBER!

BOOZE & BOATS

DON'T MIX

SOBER BOATERS MAKE FOR SAFE BOATING.

DESIGNATE A SOBER DRIVER.

The Marine Division is composed of two seasonal deputies who are each assigned to a 40 hour week to patrol the reservoirs and lakes in Crook county in patrol boats.

Any employee working Marine duties has not only taken the Boating Safety Class that we teach the general public, they also receive additional training in search and rescue operations, law updates that relate to Marine duties, boat handling both in the water and on the trailer.

While patrolling the waters of Crook County we want to ensure a safe and relaxing environment for everyone.  Frequent safety inspections not only give us the opportunity to inspect your boat for safe operation, It also is a great way to talk to the residents of the lake.  We are generally only on any body of water for a few hours a week.  Contact with the residents allows them to tell us where (and in some cases, who) the problems are.  It is much easier to solve a problem if you are aware of the problem!

The Marine Division is responsible for:

bulletInstructing Boating safety class.
bulletPatrol all lakes  within Crook County.
bulletConduct safety inspections to insure boaters have the required equipment while boating.
bulletEnforcement of the Marine Safety Act.
